Over Easter I visited my brother living in Rotorua, he gave me a bundle of letters I had never seen before written by my Mother to her parents in 1950, she as a nurse & with her girlfriends joined the army to go on a on a ship around the world to nurse soldiers. The letters were like a diary of everyone she met, places she went and they are so delightful to read as she was full of fun in her 20's. Her sense of humour and the chat she shared with her parents just gives me a warm fuzzy. It's amazing how the written word and just seeing her handwriting freshens up my memories of her to me.
I recently made this for one of our Floosie meetings, it went down well. It comes from one of may favourite recipe books Cafe@Home by Julie le clerc. You can follow her on instagram, I am sure you will love her food.
HERALD ISLAND HONEY
That's the name of my daughter Emily's new tiny home on Herald Island that she is letting out on air bnb. They have been working on it for most of the year and it's looking gorgeous. Follow the link below to have a look. So many people say to me oh I have never been to Herald Island, well it's close, only 20 minutes from Albany. Lovely for walking, reading, swimming, kayaking, netflixing and chilling out. Beautifully styled with everything you need for a mini break away and a new place to discover.
